About Dr. Kaival K. Gundavda

Dr. Kaival K. Gundavda is a GI and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgical Oncologist with a focused interest in minimally invasive and robotic approaches to cancers of the liver, pancreas, biliary system, and gastrointestinal tract. His practice reflects a careful, patient-centric approach, with emphasis on precise surgical planning and thoughtful decision-making.

He completed his MCh in Surgical Oncology at the Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai. To further refine his skills, he trained in parenchymal-sparing liver surgery in Italy, followed by advanced MIS–HPB fellowships at Severance Hospital in South Korea and Tokyo Women’s Medical University in Japan. These experiences have shaped his approach to managing complex HPB and GI cancers using contemporary minimally invasive techniques.

Dr. Gundavda’s clinical interests include liver tumors, pancreatic and periampullary cancers, gallbladder and bile duct malignancies, retroperitoneal and complex gastrointestinal cancers. Alongside his clinical work, he remains engaged in academic activity, including research contributions in pancreatic cancer surgery.
