A chapter in your life, not the whole story. Yes, I am a cancer survivor, and all I want to say is that cancer is just a chapter in your life, not the whole story. This is my successful treatment journey. On the night of 25 November, I suddenly developed a fever and severe stomach pain. My BP was extremely high. I was admitted to a nearby hospital’s ICU. After three days of BP monitoring and multiple tests, they found a large cancerous cyst in my ovary. I was shocked and started crying. I was discharged and consulted a cancer surgeon. As advised, I did a PET scan. The report showed a huge cyst, and the surgeon suggested chemotherapy first to shrink it. I completed ten cycles of chemotherapy, but I collapsed physically and mentally. According to the doctor, surgery was not possible, and the chemo was also not helping. I was devastated. I then sought another opinion and met Dr Sanket Mehta from SSO, Ghatkopar. The moment I met him, he gave me positive energy. With full confidence, he told me that surgery was 100 percent possible. I was so relieved. He is truly godlike for me. The way he gave hope was unbelievable. He removed all the affected organs through open surgery on 6 May, and it was successful. I had some post-surgery complications, but I am improving day by day. Thanks to Dr Sanket Mehta.
