Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeries
These are the tumours that arise behind the bowel, and adjacent to kidneys and large blood vessels of the abdomen. Some of them have the propensity to invade into these neighbouring blood vessels. Surgery is the best option of treatment for these tumours. Surgery of the retroperitoneal tumours is challenging due its proximity to vital sturctures.
It requires precise knowledge of the anatomy, expertise to tackle difficult situations and a team approach. Sometimes large blood vessels have to be removed along with tumour. These blood vessels need reconstructions to establish blood flow again.
